At HBond Foundation, we believe in the power of servant leadership, education, and innovation in crafting a brighter future for humanity. Founded in 2018 as a nonprofit organization under the Federal Internal Revenue Service code 501(c)(3), our mission is to facilitate the development of leaders who will serve as a catalyst for constructive disruption in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine, and leadership (STEM-ML)

Meaning Behind the Name

As physicians and geneticists, the founders of HBond Foundation aspired to bring scientific concept into giving back (and building) to the community. The idea of the name HBond was envisioned by the fact that while every human being is unique (based on their fingerprints), however our genome is 99% identical and is composed of four types of nucleotide bases: Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Guanine (G), and Cytosine (C) that form the building blocks of DNA. These bases are bonded by a hydrogen (H) bond which served as the impetus for the selection of this unique name of this Foundation. Similarly, the fabric of human society is weaved by four basic characteristics…Health, Happiness, Hope, and Harmony that form the basis of Foundation’s existence.

Through our commitment to education, we strive to empower students with access to opportunities in various disciplines in STEM-ML (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Medicine, and Leadership). From K-12 students to undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate scholars, we provide support, mentorship, and resources to inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators.
