Welcome to the HBond Foundation’s program hub, where we invite you to explore our two flagship initiatives aimed at shaping the future through education, innovation, and community engagement.
The LIgHT-HEALS Integrated Summer Internship Program is an immersive learning experience designed for high school juniors and seniors and undergraduate students interested in STEM-ML—Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Medicine, and Leadership. The program gives interns meaningful exposure to biomedical science, healthcare innovation, research, and leadership through hands-on training, professional mentorship, real-world projects, and structured skill-building activities.
Interns receive practical training in areas such as genetics, immunology, and cancer diagnosis while participating in interactive servant leadership modules focused on communication, professionalism, ethics, integrity, teamwork, and people-first decision-making. The program also includes workshops in research methods, data literacy, scientific writing, and presentation skills, helping students learn how to analyze information, communicate scientific ideas, and present their work through posters, slides, and professional pitches.
A key component of the program is a mentorship-driven capstone project that guides interns through the research process and may lead to manuscript submission for publication in an indexed journal. Participants also gain firsthand exposure to innovation ecosystems through full-day visits to leading research institutions, artificial intelligence organizations, biotechnology and medical-device companies, healthcare innovation centers, and other professional environments where science and technology are translated into practical solutions.
By the end of the internship, students develop portfolio-ready work, including a capstone report, formal presentation, documented competencies, and a certificate of completion. The program provides valuable real-world experience, access to accomplished professionals and mentors, and opportunities to strengthen college applications and résumés. It also helps participants build critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and teamwork skills while becoming part of a dynamic, collaborative, and future-focused learning community.
Watch this brief video to learn more about the LIgHT-HEALS Integrated Summer Internship Program, its multidisciplinary approach, and the opportunities it provides for students to explore science, medicine, research, innovation, and leadership through hands-on learning and professional mentorship.
The LIgHT-HEALS Integrated Summer Internship Program is delivered by the HBond Foundation in collaboration with CorePath, InnovaCore Center for Research & Biotechnology, and InnovaPath. These partnerships provide interns with access to professional mentorship, biomedical research, laboratory learning, scientific writing, healthcare innovation, and publication-focused opportunities.
By bringing together expertise from research, biotechnology, diagnostics, healthcare, and academic publishing, the program creates a multidisciplinary environment where students can connect classroom knowledge with practical experience and real-world applications.
